This is a rare find: accomplished cooking at sensible prices in a lovely room. Margaret and Mark Houston have succeeded beautifully during the past dozen or so years. We suggest the goat cheese pancakes with gravlax, sizeable for an appetizer; likewise, pasta dishes fill the platter. We seldom find a dish that's too spicy, but the grilled pasilla chile entrée, with Emmental cheese, is fiery. Mark's specialty is delicately grilled fish with light sauces --- such as salmon grilled on alder wood with lemon butter and mango relish. Or go for a filet mignon with oyster mushrooms and herb cream. The wine list is reasonable, and the corkage charge is $10. There is a cheery bar for solo dining, and romantics like a table by the wishing-well fountain. Desserts include coconut cake and white chocolate cheesecake with raspberry sauce.
