Montgomery Inn at the Boathouse Restaurant Review

: The boathouse is the home for several rowing teams, but the restaurant above is the real draw. No image is more vivid than that of founder Ted Gregory (who billed himself as the Rib King) looking splendid in his flashy-colored sport coat---perpetual cigar at the ready---making the rounds and speaking to everyone as if he had known them all personally. He headed the family that has been feeding Cincinnatians his brand of sweetly sauced barbecued ribs for years. The locals are just nuts about the pork loin back ribs, wet-cooked and falling off the bone. This is not like barbecue in Texas, Memphis or the low country---these are ribs suited to the sensibilities of the locals, who in turn bring all their out-of-town guests to see what the fuss is about. There is a large menu for those not interested in ribs. Before you leave, be sure to try the crispy, lightly seasoned Saratoga potato chips. Dessert selections include a chocolate sundae supreme, cheesecake, a shortcake of the day, carrot cake and Graeter's ice cream (a Cincinnati favorite).
