Moro's Dining Restaurant Review: An out-of-the-way spot with a solid Italian-American menu of veal, beef and pasta dishes, Tom Moro's restaurant is tucked into a modest strip mall near Metro Airport. Dinners are complete with a classic tossed salad, minestrone or soup of the day, vegetable and potato. Portions are large. Tableside cooking adds flair to the mirrored room that is usually packed with diners who know they can depend on the reliably tasty fare. We recommend the shrimp sautéed in butter with scallions, mushrooms, green peppers and a light touch of tomato sauce flambéed with brandy and Madeira wine; and the classic Châteaubriand for two. And who could resist such vintage desserts as cherries jubilee and bananas flambéed with brandy, rum, crème de banana and crème de almond served over French vanilla ice cream. |
