Morton's The Steakhouse Restaurant Review: The Morton's chain is all about quality steaks, salads and sides with a couple of seafood items thrown in. Not sure what to order? Servers wheel over an abundant cart filled with the cuts of beef available that day (this steakhouse is the originator of the show-and-tell tableside à la carte menu). Start off with a sampling of tuna tartare, oysters on the half shell or colossal shrimp cocktail before diving into the double cut filet mignon, New York strip or prime rib. The enormous chopped salad is a meal in itself. We like to pair a bottle of Cabernet with the Chicago-style bone-in rib-eye, complemented by a side of sautéed button mushrooms and a jumbo baked potato. Desserts are designed for sharing---our favorite is the signature hot chocolate cake. An after-work crowd gathers for the happy hour bar bites menu (think petite filet mignon sandwiches) and a fruity cocktail.
