| It’s just a short walk from the State Capitol to this Nashville link in a popular national chain, and so it’s no wonder so many movers and shakers come here for a reliably good steak in deluxe, clubby surroundings. Travelers to Nashville and local subscribers to the Nashville Opera, Ballet and Broadway series will find Morton's location especially fortuitous: it's a block from the Nashville Convention Center, the Tennessee Performing Arts Center and the Ryman Auditorium. The atmosphere is relaxing, with plenty of wood and leather, plus private wine lockers and comfy chairs. Beef is the star of the show; it's of superior grade, expertly cut, and cooked by people who really know what medium-rare means. The salmon is also a good bet, and the side dishes are man-size: when you order broccoli, you get the whole head. You could mistake the baked potato for a Tennessee Titans' football. Choose a wine from the extensive list and you've got a solid (and expensive) dining experience. |
