Morton's The Steakhouse Restaurant Review: In this clubby, comfortable---and masculine---setting, the waitstaff presents the menu in flashy show-and-tell style, holding up gigantic lobsters, various hunks of meat wrapped in plastic, and potatoes the size of footballs to make their point. Starters include crab meat, lobster bisque soup, raw oysters and smoked salmon. Then come the massive entrées: the huge, 48-ounce double porterhouse, the New York strip steak and the double filet mignon. Morton's menu also offers good prime rib and lamb chops, as well as Maine lobster and grilled salmon (both flown in fresh daily). The satisfying sides include potatoes Lyonnaise or creamed spinach, but room should be saved for desserts such as raspberry soufflé and Key lime pie. The wine list is adequate. |
