| The menu at Mosaic Restaurant & Lounge in the Four Points by Sheraton San Jose Downtown is one that flaunts chef Albert Nguyen-Phuoc’s Asian-infused repertoire, while still keeping the meat and potatoes crowd happy. Standout starters include the crispy duck egg roll: its crunchy crust explodes with the complementary flavors and textures of roast duck, cabbage and wild mushrooms encased within, while an accompanying dipping sauce offers the thick consistency of a traditional Vietnamese sauce with the fruity tang of fig and balsamic vinegar. Also memorable is a light, fluffy crab cake with a golden exterior, served with asparagus ribbons and a delicate sauce of gingery butter. Entrées include a crispy pork belly dish that features a triumvirate of crunchy, fatty and meaty. The generous portion is garnished with a Napa cabbage kimchi and served atop al dente lentils scattered with flavors: fruity (apricot), salty and smoky (bacon), and sweet and anise (carrot and fennel). Another entrée sees seared scallops garnish a rich and velvety risotto brimming with Asiago, blue crab meat and sweet corn. For the aforementioned meat and potatoes crowd, an upscale burger, two steak dishes and a grilled lamb chop will appeal. |
