The traditional Chinese restaurant décor is in need of an update, but Mountain King continues to serve consistently tasty standards like Mongolian beef nonetheless. Window-shoppers along Woodward are enticed by the aroma of fried rice and sesame chicken, and theater-goers often stop in for a quick bite before or after a movie. Anyone swinging by has a long list of menu items to contend with, including Szechuan spicy shrimp and kung pao scallops. Not to be overlooked is the Mountain King chicken in spicy brown sauce, seafood lo mein, and tangy General Tso’s chicken. You needn't settle for won ton soup; instead, try hot and sour or sizzling rice. Lunch specials start at $5.55 for an entrée, soup, fried rice and an egg roll or crab meat dumpling.
