 Mr. Chen’s Authentic Chinese Cooking Restaurant Review: This small, tastefully decorated Chinese restaurant set in a strip shopping center off Hwy. 31 could become habit forming. Try the stir-fried anchovy and peanuts, sticky rice in lotus leaf, ginger and onion squid and the Taiwanese braised pork. Less adventurous eaters may nosh on kung pao beef, sesame shrimp or cashew chicken and similar standards, but the dish will still probably be a better version than any you will find elsewhere. We also recommend the colorful shrimp with vegetables, flaky sea bass with crispy bean sauce and the eggplant with pork, but the quality of the food makes it hard to pick favorites. Perhaps the only thing to do is eat your way through the whole menu. The restaurant obtained a license to serve beer and is working on a wine list. There’s also a tempting selection of tea drinks---both hot and cold---some sweet enough to sub for dessert. |
