Nacho Mama's Restaurant Review: Regulars swear that Elvis makes the occasional appearance at this funky Tex-Mex restaurant. And it's not just the Natty Boh talking. More likely it's the black velvet altar to the King, complete with spangled white suit, that lures him here --- in spirit, at least --- along with a partying crowd. (Be prepared to wait in line, as no reservations are taken.) The food's cheap and plentiful, from straddle-the-border standards like quesadillas, tacos and fajitas to specialties such as chipotle baby-back ribs, jambalaya chicken and Mama's meatloaf. The signature drink is a margarita served in a hubcap, suitable for toasting the memory of beloved founder “Scunny” McCusker. |
