Narcoossee's Restaurant Review

: Wander across the pretty grounds of the Grand Floridian and down by the water, and you'll find this octagonal-shaped restaurant jutting out over the Seven Seas Lagoon. Fresh seafood specialties are always on the menu, featured in starters such as butter poached lobster bisque; mussels in a tomato, white wine and saffron broth with chorizo; and barbecue grilled shrimp and grits. But there are fresh seasonal salads as well. The peach orchard salad combines ripe peaches, greens, roasted onions, sweet and salty hazelnuts, and manchego cheese. For entrées, try the wild Alaskan halibut with herbed gnocchi and romanesco sauce; day boat scallops with trofie pasta and grilled mushrooms; or the Kurobuta pork rib chop with cheddar polenta and kale. When it’s available, go for the tender coriander and shichimi pepper spiced seared ahi. This is one of the few places at Disney World where you can find a whole steamed Maine lobster. They'll happily pair a wine from the impressive collection with your dinner selection. Narcoossee’s dessert “Candy Bar” presents a dark chocolate-mocha bar with velvety house-made Guanaja chocolate gelato.

Great Food, Great View

My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary at Narcoosee's. Their specialty is seafood, though you'll find a little bit of everything. Since the restaurant sits out on the water, you'll have a beautiful view of Seven-Seas Lagoon and Cinderalla's Castle, if you can wrangle a seat by the windows. Actually, every seat in the house can still look out through the picturesque windows. We purposefully had a later reservation so that we could watch the fireworks display over the Castle -- lovely.

The seafood was excellent and the staff was attentive, detail-oriented, and quite friendly. Every request that I made throughout the evening in order to make the night special for my wife was met with enthusiasm.

Some reviewers elsewhere have pointed out that the wood floors carry sound so that the atmosphere is not quiet. Well, it's true that the wood floors do carry sound, but the critique needs to be qualified. Narcoossee's is not excessively loud, by any means. True, it's not whisper-quiet like some top world-class restaurants, but compared to 97% of all restaurants, you'll have no trouble with the noise level. It's as quiet or quieter than the average steakhouse.
