Narcoossee's Restaurant Review: Wander across the pretty grounds of the Grand Floridian and down by the water, and you'll find this octagonal-shaped restaurant jutting out over the Seven Seas Lagoon. Casual but still upscale, the experience just might be part of your fondest vacation memories. Fresh seafood specialties are always on the menu, featured in starters such as slow-poached and chilled shrimp cocktail, and clams in tomato, white wine and saffron broth with chorizo and shaved fennel. The market salad combines garden vegetables, house-made pancetta, candied walnuts and honeyed mascarpone. For entrées, the coriander and shichimi spiced seared ahi with charred beans, green papaya and sticky rice in a ginger, makrut lime and soy broth is a standout, as are the pan-seared Georges Bank day boat scallops served with trofie pasta and sultana raisins with grilled elf mushrooms. When it’s on the menu, go for the wild Alaskan halibut. Narcoossee's is one of the few places at Disney World where you can find a whole steamed Maine lobster. They'll happily pair a wine from the notable collection with your dinner selection. End the meal with a Narcoossee's "candy bar," a dark chocolate-mocha bar with smooth house-made Guanaja chocolate gelato.
