New Albanian Brewing Company Public House Restaurant Review: Thirty-four taps offer a rotating selection of house and guest brews at the laid-back brewpub and pizzeria that helped pioneer the Louisville area’s craft beer renaissance. Beers brewed on-site range from refreshing lagers to smoky porters and include Beak’s Best (American pale ale), Bonfire of the Valkyries (smoked black lager) and Hoosier Daddy (amber ale). Other area microbrews may be found on tap as well as first-rate pints from Germany, England, Belgium and beyond. If you are curious about any of the brews, the friendly staff is always happy to bring a sample before you commit to a pint. Pizzas made with a spicy, homemade tomato sauce anchor the menu, which also features calzones and sandwiches served on pizza bread. The ham and cheese “our way” (dressed with peppers and veggies) is probably the most popular. For a side, go with the potato wedges baked in the pizza oven. There are no desserts on the menu, but who needs sweets when you can have another pint?
