Longtime L.A. chef and restaurateur Larry Nicolaâ€™s little Beverly Hills creation is colorful, hip and actually has some stylish food, whether for snacking or making a full meal. Couple that with the martini menu featuring 80 varieties and live jazz on alternating Fridays, and you have a vibrant way to relax in the lap of luxury. The restaurantâ€™s glass-ensconced vodka freezer, the VodBox, is also the perfect place for friends to share a bottle of high-end vodka. We particularly like the little dishes of finger foods made from shrimp, scallops and tender beef in varying sauces and seasonings, but dinner sees some serious attention to fish, steak and poultry, too. Try the grilled free-range chicken with a Pommery mustard crust or his famous sautÃ©ed oysters on the half-shell with spinach, walnuts and garlic. Finish with the chocolate caramel cream torte with mocha chip gelato.
