Dining room at Noche, Boston, MAThis South End hidden gem (in the former Icarus locale) is a modern space, designed with dark wood, white tables and chairs, and mirror-lined walls. Chef Scott Robertson’s flair for Latin cuisine is evident throughout the menu. Start with the savory smoked chicken, sweet potato and corn chowder, or heirloom tomato and native corn salad with queso fresco, chili oil and basil vinaigrette. Pair it with a spicy “angry” margarita made with tequila, jalapeño and agave, or a fruity white sangría. As the name suggests, this hot-spot is popular with a late-night crowd who flock here for the noshes. Our favorite dish is the chicken, chorizo and shellfish paella, an enormous concoction of saffron arborio rice, lobster tail, mussels, clams, shrimp and green peas. Seared ahi and shellfish mole sits atop a bed of sweet coconut rice and spicy chili-rubbed baby summer squash. Churros with caramel sauce round out the experience.
