An upscale brewpub along a gritty stretch of Commonwealth Avenue, it has a big room decked out in handsome dark woods and dim lights. There’s a fireplace in the bar, and regular music gigs include acoustic and jazz in the main dining room and rock downstairs. In the classic brewpub style you see the giant copper tanks and other brewing paraphernalia and of course you can taste the many fine handcrafted brews. The menu is far-reaching with good designer pizzas and some nice wood-grilled dishes including fish and slabs of meat. On weekends, a jazz combo plays for the popular brunch. The waitstaff is young and very friendly, kind of like the crowd.
