 Nosh Euro Bistro Restaurant Review: The shimmering Aurora restaurant called it quits in late 2010, but chef-owner Avner Samuel refashioned the space into a sleek and polished bistro, with more casual food and prices to match. To make the transition smoother, he partnered with young chef Jon Stevens, who honed his skills while working under Nick Badovinus at Neighborhood Services. Put it this way: If you like NS, you'll like Nosh, with reminiscent dishes such as the lobster fritters or the croque monsieur with ham and Gruyère. But Nosh still bears Avner's unmistakable stamp, thanks to Middle Eastern favorites like falafel with tahini and peperonata, and his "Mother’s Salad," a chopped mélange of peppers, tomato and cucumber that he takes with him everywhere he goes. Nosh offers a selection of on-trend new-old cocktails like the Pisco sour and a cucumber-pear spritzer, ideal to sip at the handsome bar and watch as the mobs descend. (Watch, because you can hardly hear a thing---it's loud.) |
