THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Nugent’s Firegrille Restaurant & Sportslounge Restaurant Review: Nugent’s might have a different name, but owner-chef Ron Nugent is still delivering tasty surf ‘n’ turf to a dedicated crowd. Nugent does this by offering fresh oysters, clams, mussels and shrimp in a variety of preparations. Fresh fish is delivered six times a week. Fire-grilled salmon, mahi mahi or fresh swordfish are dressed up in tempting sauces like ginger-ponzu butter, papaya salsa or lemon-dill garlic butter. Hot dishes include baked seafood au gratin (hearty portions of scallops, shrimp and fish baked under a cheese-y crust), grilled Thai scallop skewers (with a ginger-soy glaze and drizzled peanut sauce) and a topnotch version of cioppino. Reasonably priced Angus beef steaks please the meat-eating crowd with choices of Creole, béarnaise or teriyaki sauces. Gourmet pizzas, panko-dipped and lightly fried fish ‘n’ chips, and an extensive happy hour menu seven days a week offer good value. Extensive al fresco dining and an energetic sports bar add to the fun. |
