THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES The Oak Room Restaurant Review:
Step inside The Oak Room and be taken back to another time. Its old-world charm, baroque Edwardian woodwork, high ceilings and miles of upholstery and drapery make this a favorite among locals and tourists alike. While you will find the traditional steakhouse staples here---jumbo shrimp cocktail and an iceberg wedge salad served as a prelude to the likes of a classic New York strip or bone-in rib-eye---the restaurant also is well known for its tableside Châteaubriand for two. There are some unique finds here, including a grilled bone-in halibut steak and bone-in monkfish chop. The cocktail list is impressive as are all of the drinks served up from the adjacent Oak Bar. After dinner, grab a martini and settle down in one of the plush banquettes for an intimate listen to some talented pianists. For the prix-fixe Sunday brunch, there's a good array of Benedicts (lobster, Florentine, Scottish and New England) that complement the restaurant’s own take on the Bloody Mary, served up with three jumbo shrimp.
