| The gold standard may no longer apply to the almighty dollar, but the Obrycki's crab standard is still one of the fundamental measures by which all steamed hard-shell blue crabs can be judged. Still, there is a twist. Rather than what many view as the traditional red Old Bay-style spicing, Obrycki's has its very own black-pepper-and-mustard seasoning. If a full-fledged round of crab crackin' doesn't appeal, there's a passel of other ways to get your quota, from crab soup and crap dip to crab Imperial to potato skins stuffed with it, to cakes made of it, to...well you get the idea. Yes, you can get a steak if you really want one, but shellfish of all sorts is this restaurant’s forte. As topnotch crabs are seasonal, Obrycki’s closes in the beginning of December and reopens in mid-March. |
