Occitania is located on the ground floor of Oakland's Kissel Uptown hotel by Hyatt. This concept from restaurateur/chef Paul Canales draws inspiration from the Occitan linguistic region, which covers southern France, the alpine region of Italy’s Piemonte, and Spain’s Catalonia. Oakland-based design and architecture firm Arcsine carried on this motif in the décor. On the menu, guests will encounter such dishes as steak frites and Provençal bourride (fish stew).
