Old Chicago Restaurant Review: Pizza and beer---a foolproof comfort combination after a hard day at work. You can bring the kids or meet with your boys for watching the Broncos on the tube. The pies here are fairly good, middle-of-the-road versions that are consistent but neither thrill nor offend. The broad selection of Italian offerings walks a similar tightrope. Calzones, spaghetti platters and other old-country entrées are respectable but won’t make you cry for your Sicilian mother-in-law’s cooking. Need a beer? The place pours dozens of draft suds from Bud and Miller to local and national microbrews. If that’s not enough, OC offers several more dozen American and import bottled beers for your drinking pleasure. |
