| More than 50 years old, Old Europe is one of the few German restaurants in the Washington area. You can always find large portions of satisfying würsts and schnitzels, but the real draw at Old Europe is its succession of festivals throughout the year: Oktoberfest; a winter game festival, when black radishes, butcher’s platters and steins of beer are served; a spring asparagus festival, when you can get one-pound servings of green or rare white asparagus; and a May wine festival, when dinner is accompanied by goblets of Riesling steeped with woodruff. |
