| What a pleasant dining room this is with its mustard-yellow walls, windows crisply trimmed in white, black-and-white photographs of old Annapolis, and a view of the waterfront and the State House dome. Ambience alone puts O'Leary's in the winner's circle. But, thankfully, its beauty is more than skin deep. The focus is on seafood, including everything from skillfully updated renditions of standards---think jumbo lump Maryland crab cakes with apple wood-smoked bacon and scallion three-potato salad, grilled asparagus and mustard-lime sauce, and crisply-fried Virginia oysters with pineapple-mango chutney---to dishes like Thai-barbecued mahi mahi. Add to this a well-chosen and annotated wine list, a goodly selection of wines by the glass and professional service, and you have a serious contender for an Annapolis best-in-show. |
