Olio Restaurant Restaurant Review:

Olio Restaurant is found on the other side of the Arno River and just a few steps from the Ponte Vecchio. It’s often mistaken for a wine bar and delicatessen shop on the narrow street, and in fact, it is a bit of those as well. Wines are lined up against the walls and waiters will pick one to serve at your table. Selections are first-rate, however mostly Italian, but there are plenty of choices. Chef Gaetano Cerasuolo is a real Neapolitan and honed his food skills in various restaurants in Italy. He serves what he calls a fusion-Tuscan cuisine and his expertise is showcased in the creativity on the plates, a delight for the eye. Mixed salad with warm goat’s cheese is a good starter. Main courses include various combinations with Tuscan beef, but we also suggest the salmon escalope with buffalo mozzarella and tips of black cabbage. From the dessert menu, consider the crema cotta all´arancia with a chocolate mousse and the millefoglie di pane Toscano with ricotta and pear. For the indecisive diner, this thoughtful chef offers a Tasting Plate with several options (two people minimum) accompanied by vin santo. Staff is super friendly and helpful and some speak English.
