 Olives Restaurant Review: After an extensive renovation, Olives boasts an expanded bar and revamped contemporary Mediterranean menu. The flagship in celeb chef Todd English's international restaurant empire now evokes a comfortable neighborhood bistro. The menu focuses on shared plates, such as sweet pea panna cotta, veal meatballs and buffalo-style crispy sweetbreads. Favorites include beef carpaccio with Gorgonzola rösti cake, mixed greens, balsamic glazed onions, scallion aïoli and Parmesan, and crispy rock shrimp with garlic and herb ricotta. Wood-grilled steak frites hits the right notes, the skirt steak with a savory garlic and rosemary rub. Lots of inventive cocktails and ten beers on tap will quench your thirst. |
