Olympic Provisions Restaurant Review: Olympic Provisions is a leader in Portland's charcuterie renaissance. But the menu spans the spectrum of bold flavors, even offering vegetarian options. Try the roasted chicken with schmaltz (chicken fat) fried potatoes, or the olive oil-poached Oregon albacore tuna. On a lighter note, consider the deli salad of garbanzos, rice, roasted vegetables, pecorino, almonds and pickled raisins in a lemon vinaigrette. And, of course, there's always the meat. Share one of the charcuterie boards, such as the Spanish (two Spanish-style salami, jamón de York, coppa ham, chorizo) or order a long, thin hot dog or a bratwurst. Vegetarians may go for the roasted mushroom banh mi. Match your dinner with something from the small, thoughtful wine list, or choose a craft cocktail from one of many herbal concoctions. For an unusual dessert, there’s chocolate salami with salt-and-pepper shortbread. Brunch offers an array of eggs Benedicts and french toast, along with kielbasa and the aforementioned rotisserie chicken. Also located at 107 SE Washington St., 503-954-3663. You may buy charcuterie to take home at both locations.
