With a name like OM, this Harvard Square hot-spot has set itself up for a critical backlash against pretentious misappropriation of Buddhist symbology. We're not sure we disagree. After all, a round of aromatherapy martinis in a Tibetan art-filled, night-clubby lounge does not a spiritual experience make. You won’t exactly want to meditate on the prices either. And yet, something about this place works; certainly the owners, themselves Nepalese, have gone to great lengths to ensure that it does. Like the lounge, the dining room is lavish, yet somehow tasteful. Chef Michael Madden, who once worked under former OM chef Rachel Klein, brings his own spin on Southeast Asian street food to the menu. You'll find simple fare like "haute dogs" and burgers alongside spring rolls, beef skewers, and those famous signature dumplings, known as momos.
