Onesto Pizza & Trattoria Restaurant Review: Onesto’s Italian offerings are influenced by the Bronx (salami rolls), Philadelphia (strombolis), St. Louis (toasted ravioli) and Louisiana (the Mad Cajun pizza, with andouille, Gulf shrimp, fire-roasted peppers and jalapeños). Crazy at it sounds, the menu combination works thanks to a foundation of organic dough and skillfully cooked pastas. For more traditional Italian fare, opt for the spinach-ricotta calzone or beef-and-pork ravioli in cream sauce. Dessert brings the difficult decision of deciding between tiramisu and a dark chocolate brownie with salted caramel gelato. A rotating menu of unique sangrías (with flavors like lemon spice or strawberry-lavender-bourbon) makes for a fun brunch experiment; for dinner, the wine list has a nice diversity in geography and price.
