ore Restaurant Review:

Alain Ducasse presides over this modern café in the Palace of Versailles. It’s located on the first floor of the Pavillon Dufour, which is refurbished. Stéphane Duchiron, a talented chef who previously distinguished himself at Les Fougères and Le Relais du Parc, helms the stoves. At his disposal are topnotch ingredients, which he prepares finely thanks to his cooking and expert seasonings. Alongside simple items such as croque monsieur with ham and Comté cheese and pasta shells enhanced with black truffle, sophisticated courses are suggested. We recommend the pumpkin velouté with croutons, the raw salmon seasoned with pepper, juniper and lemon-flavored cream, the spiced guinea fowl supreme and the beef fillet with pan-seared foie gras and Anna potatoes. To crown it off, the chocolate soufflé with vanilla sherbet is a treat. Kids are welcome, and alongside drawings and colored pencils they are given their own menu. Very courteous staff and convincing wine list with about 50 labels, including a Pinot Noir Fournier 2014 by the glass.
