THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Pacific Wave Restaurant Restaurant Review:
A baseball's throw from the University of South Florida's downtown St. Petersburg campus, this little restaurant brings the taste and style of Pacific Rim cuisine to an increasingly sophisticated downtown dining experience. The wood-and-metal décor complements the original artwork. The restaurant has a limited menu that focuses on seafood but doesn't ignore meatier options. And menu options change often. Appetizers, for example, may include a chilled Laos spring roll with Thai basil, mango and marinated prawns served with a bird's eye chili and cashew dip. Entrées can be equally as creative. Consider the Boursin cheese-and-leek-stuffed chicken breast. It's accompanied by a tomato salad, mushroom risotto and roasted garlic. Another tasty temptation is the crispy seared duck breast and confit (served with soba noodles, shiitake mushrooms, mizuna and baby bok choy and drizzled with a sweet plum wine glaze). Another sumptuous choice is the sushi and maki roll plate.
