Paddy's Irish Pub Restaurant Review: Besides having a winery, Château Elan is a resort that offers golf, tennis and a choice of seven restaurants, including Paddy's Irish Pub. Founders Donald and Nancy Panoz had lived some 20 years in Ireland and decided to bring a bit of the auld sod home in the form of an authentic pub designed and built in Ireland and shipped to Georgia to be set up inside the château. Choose a hefty brew to pair with the substantial fare, and start with the loaded baked potato soup or boxty, a stuffed potato pancake that makes a light lunch with a small salad. Traditional standards include shepherd's pie (with beef), bangers and mash, and, of course, smoked salmon salad and fish 'n' chips. Smoked pork cutlets is a plate that provides plenty for two, served alongside braised cabbage and potatoes. For dessert, opt for the house-made Baileys cheesecake. Meal service begins at 4 p.m. weekdays and at noon on weekends, when the dinner menu is served all day.
