Try the zucchini chips served with the red Papa Dio's sauce at Oklahoma City's oldest family-owned Italian restaurant, where owner Bill Bonadio says they put a little Italian in everything. Truly designed to offer something for everyone, Papa Dio’s has two dining rooms, one with casual vinyl chairs and tablecloths where your kids can slurp noodles and get a little sauce on their bib with no worries. The second is an Italian wine bar in an intimate, upscale setting appropriate for a romantic candlelit dinner. The 160-item menu is a serious display of Italian fare, including a Tuscan fusion selection where you’ll find lobster ravioli and chicken Florentine. Choose your imported pasta and then match it with a sauce like clam, shrimp with Alfredo, red with two meatballs, red with Italian sausage, and more. Veal is the star of favorite menu items, including Veal “Al Dio," sautéed in olive oil and simmered in marinara sauce and mushrooms. Since starting out as a pizzeria, Papa Dio’s is still most proud of its original fried pizza---and your server will encourage you to try it when you visit.
