Pappy McGregor’s Pub & Grill Restaurant Review: Pappy McGregor’s definitely gets its Irish on, but the food is far better than you might expect from a place with such a lively pub scene. Appetizers are typical, but well done, with touches such as hand-pulled carnitas in the tacos. Salads are hearty, as is the prime rib chili and the wintertime favorite of grilled cheddar and havarti on sourdough served with a cup of tomato bisque. Other sandwiches include grass-fed burgers and a BLT with arugula, while entrées range from lobster mac ‘n’ cheese to house-made potpie, and halibut in a green coconut curry sauce. The best dessert is the warm brownie sundae. In addition to a respectable wine list and line-up of drafts --- think Harp, Smithwick’s and Guinness --- there’s a full bar, too. Also located in San Luis Obispo.
