| This Tremont corner is buzzing, thanks to Zachary Bruell and Dave Schneider's Parallax. A cool and understated interior belies the neighborhood vibe in the bar, where a lone TV discreetly provides updates on whatever sporting event is currently of concern. The quieter dining room is a better setting in which to peruse the surprisingly extensive menu (cleverly presented on a metal clipboard). Pick and choose your way through skillfully presented sushi appetizers while pondering entrée selections. Asian-style beef brisket and chicken with pommes frites stand out among a slew of seafood offerings. If you’re looking to impress a dining companion, ask for table 45---the best table in the house, and also the name of Bruell’s hip boîte at the InterContinental Hotel across town. |
