| Zack Bruell and Dave Schneider's Parallax serves up contemporary, eclectic cuisine amid a sleek, urban vibe. The bar faces a row of sturdy private booths, while the subtly lit dining room is elegant yet relaxed. Add to that a surprisingly extensive menu (cleverly presented on a metal clipboard) and we find ourselves enamored. Start with the short rib pot stickers, served with a sweet-hot dipping sauce. Sample some sushi---the Unavo Roll is a must---before proceeding to curried lamb shanks or seared sea scallops. For dessert, we recommend the lemon grass crème brûlée and the buttermilk pound cake. Add a nice, savvy wine selection, and you have the makings of a great date. |
