Pearl on the River Restaurant Review: Overlooking a busy stretch of the Sacramento River, Pearl on the River is a good bet for special occasion dining. Whether visiting for a family celebration or business meeting, guests are sure to be impressed by the comfortable, shaded outdoor deck or expansive dining room windows facing the water below. The “live” menu changes daily, with a focus on seafood and locally grown produce. Starters include grilled oysters on the half-shell with lemon-basil butter and a smoked salmon pizza with crème fraîche. Mains include sautéed mussels with green curry; seared ahi with mesclun, egg and beans; and Moroccan braised short ribs with dried plums. A number of hand-crafted specialty cocktails are also available, such as a pear martini and ginger mojito, as is a healthy international selection of wines by the glass.
