Jacky Robert’s two-story bistro is set in a brownstone on the outskirts of Kenmore Square, and offers Francophiles a more affordable and casual option than its counterparts. The dishes never seem to disappoint, whether garlicky escargots, sautéed foie gras or steak frites. Robert and his crew effortlessly turn out lunches like croque monsieurs, crêpes and quiche, as well as the burgerdog en baguette. He takes an adventurous leap of faith with such entrées as salmon filet Cordon Bleu stuffed with cheese (no ham) and braised endives. We also suggest the hearty chicken coq au vin with buttered noodles. Be sure to save room for some crunchy-chewy macaroons served in their own chocolate box.
