In the heart of the French Quarter, Petunias is a good choice for a laid-back meal in bright, cheery surroundings. The menu features a variety of crêpes stuffed with seafood, meats or vegetables, and among the several good shrimp dishes is one with a tomato sauce flavored with dill and curry. Topping the list of topnotch home-style gumbos is the chicken-and-sausage. Those who find themselves rising late after a night on the town can still get gussied-up breakfast omelets here with andouille or boudin sausage until 3 p.m., or stop in for any of a raft of classic desserts, from more stuffed crêpes to classic Creole bread pudding.
