THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Pho Tau Bay Restaurant Review

: HURRICANE KATRINA: this establishment is currently closed. For a New Orleans Travel Update as well as resources, information and help click here. The most modern-looking branch of a long-established, family-run Vietnamese restaurant chain, this Phó Tàu Bay contributes to its Mid-City neighborhood's current growth spurt. Whether you come for the pho (Vietnamese noodle soup), the banh mi (vegetable-dressed sandwiches on French bread) or the wonderful bun (vermicelli salad bowls), you may consider arriving via the Canal Street-Carrollton Avenue streetcar line. Herb-brightened chicken salad, wonton soup and spring rolls are also destination foods. The bright, sterilized space is especially busy at lunch with employees from neighboring businesses. The strip is also a hot spot after dark, when truckloads of New Orleanians flock to Angelo Brocato's Sicilian ice cream parlor next door. Also located at 3116 Arnoult Rd., Metairie, 504-780-1063; and 113C Westbank Expy., Gretna, 504-368-9846.
