Pho Van Restaurant Review: Over the years, the setting of this popular Southeast 82nd Avenue restaurant has grown more upscale, but the menu has remained basically the same. There are still many variations of Vietnamese pho, most based on a deeply aromatic meaty beef broth. Choose noodles and proteins to suit your taste buds. Fresh herbs and greens accompany the steaming bowls, and a variety of hot sauces on the table inspire explosive tastes. Don’t miss the crispy rolls and the sweet and tart green papaya salad. Hand rolls, rice or noodle entrées, salads, and unusual beverages round out the menu. Thai beer and a small wine list are available, and the creamy, sweet Thai iced tea has many fans. For dessert, sample the intriguing banana bread pudding served on a bed of coconut tapioca pearl sauce.
