THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Phoenix Coffeehouse & Cybercafe Restaurant Review:
When the national-chain coffeehouses began invading cities across the U.S., Cleveland was no exception, and many local coffeehouses didnt make it. Phoenix survived and thrives today (possibly because its founder, Carl Jones, opened Clevelands first coffeehouse chain, Arabica, long before the national ones came here). These cafés are franchises so their tone, décor and programs vary widely. In all locations, from what weve seen, the coffee is strong and the pastries are fresh---and, in this location, the selection of gourmet goodies is wide. The Cybercafé---Clevelands first---is furnished warmly with couches and overstuffed chairs that invite customers to stay. A light lunch menu of deli sandwiches and salads is available. Local musicians play in the evenings; during the day, customers can access the Internet for entertainment.
