Gertrude's Restaurant Review:

With tan, dusky brown and bronze appointments that evoke the spirit of late afternoon along the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, Gertrude's interior is a thing of beauty, befitting its home in the Baltimore Museum of Art. Outdoor tables overlooking the Wurtzburger Sculpture Garden are among the most prized seats of summer. Owner-cookbook author-TV chef John Shields' farm-to-table menu focuses on regional specialties, such as fried oysters, Virginia-style pork barbecue, rockfish and, of course, crab cakes. It also offers a section of mix-and-match choices of grilled seafood and meats, sauces and sides for those who like to design their own dinners. A lavish brunch is available on weekends, and afternoon tea is served on the first weekend of each month.
