Strip House Restaurant Review:

Stepping into Strip House, located on the mezzanine level of the glitzy and modern Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, we are immediately drawn to the vintage photographs smiling down demurely. The lush red room features black-and-white nude photographs of starlets from the '20s---tame by Vegas standards but risqué for those days. Starters are simple, yet sensual, such as the creamy lobster bisque or the pungent warm garlic bread with Gorgonzola fondue, a dish meant to be shared. Steaks, of course, are what they do best here, especially the New York strip. Those who are into topping their beef with sauces will find a succinct homemade collection, including bordelaise, sweet chili, Stilton cheese and béarnaise. The wine list holds plenty of reds up to the job of pairing with these hefty portions of protein. Decadence lies within the goose fat potatoes, a rich mound of potatoes browned to a golden crisp and scented with rosemary. For dessert, don't miss the towering 24-layer chocolate cake. Consider a stop in the cozy lounge at the front for a pre- or post-dinner cocktail.
