The Pine Cone Diner's colorful décor, old-fashioned diner-style counter and stools, and 1950s kitschy signs and old tea pots evoke “Leave It To Beaver." The menu features American comfort classics updated to showcase local produce. For instance, the obligatory burger is made with local grass-fed beef. We like the pan-fried trout and eggs, giant breakfast sandwiches and ever-changing selection of desserts, including, if you’re lucky, a fine nectarine-blueberry cobbler. Want a different twist on coffee? Try the thick espresso shakes. Though the waitresses’ T-shirts claim the Pine Cone Diner has “great food, prickly service,” don’t let them fool you---both food and service are diner-deluxe.
