Pita Pit Restaurant Review: Craving a cheap, hearty sandwich but not all that bread? Pita Pit is a satisfying compromise. Thin pitas are overstuffed with goodies such as sprouts, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, feta cheese, spinach---you pick from 17-plus toppings after you choose from meats like chicken souvlaki, turkey and steak. Falafel, baba ghanouj and hummus are among vegetarian offerings. Our favorite is the Philly steak with melted Swiss, sautéed onions, mushrooms and green peppers. Breakfast pitas are also served all day, stuffed with eggs, ham, bacon and sausage among other options. Skip the bread altogether and turn the ingredients into a salad.
