Pizzeria Orso Restaurant Review: Boasting a wood-burning oven --- yes, that does slow down service, as all pizzas are baked methodically --- Pizzeria Orso turns out pies with a tender, slightly sour crust and with toppings that are juxtaposed for color and flavor. While the traditional flat pies with their bubbled and charred edges are topnotch, sample one of the few folded pizzas enclosing a cheese or meat filling. Among pizzas with an American twist is the Creole pie with andouille sausage and corn. Interesting starters include veal meatballs in tomato sauce, roasted olives, and an Orso Caesar salad. The limited dessert menu includes lemon donuts with chocolate sauce. Even the kids get special attention with their own kid-friendly menu. Check out the extensive beer and wine menu, too.
