| Polli's is an institution in Makawao, where cowboys still ride horses to town and the rodeo on the Fourth of July is the major event of the year. Eating Mexican food is serious business here and Polli serves up the best in town. The sign out front reads, Come in and eat or we'll both starve, which gives some indication of the wild and wooly atmosphere to be found inside. The salsa is fresh and homemade, and there are dishes for vegetarians as well as great barbecue ribs. Try the seafood burrito supreme packed with shrimp, mahi mahi and white jack cheese. Take-out is available. For less than $10, you can stuff yourself and enjoy a beer at Polli's. |
