Pomodoro Pizzeria & Trattoria Restaurant Review

: Hearty Italian-American cooking is the order of the day at this family-owned eatery. Simple wooden chairs and tables, painted seaside views through trompe l’oeil windows, and an authentic wood-fired brick oven make for a comfortable setting. To start, try the spicy mussel arrabiata or the grilled portobello mushrooms covered with Gorgonzola and a balsamic vinegar drizzle. Oven-baked pasta choices like the ziti Sorrentino and the lasagna taste homemade (if you have an Italian grandmother). Fish and meat centered mains include classics like chicken scarpariello and veal cutlet Parmigiana. Desserts include tiramisu and gelato, providing a traditional sweet finish. The wine list runs to well-known Italian regional selections, such as Sangioveses and classic Chiantis, along with some finer selections like a Brunello di Montalcino from Tuscany and a Marchesi di Barolo from Piedmont.
