![]() Pono Burger Restaurant Review: Pono Burger has brought its organic, island-inspired burgers to the Sunset Strip. The restaurant's name comes from the Hawaiian concept of "pono" --- doing things "the right way." For chef/owner Makani Carzino, who was born and raised in Hawaii, this means making burgers with organic, grass-fed beef and sourcing ingredients from local farmers markets. Imbibers can select from craft beers (many local), wines and cocktails that draw inspiration from Hawaii. Exclusive to this branch are a selection of pupus (small plates such as teriyaki chicken skewers) and Pau Hana (happy hour) weekdays from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. Also located at 829 Broadway, Santa Monica, 310-584-7005, and 512 Rose Ave., Venice, 310-392-6200. |
