| First, it was a diner with a retail bakery. Then, Ponzio's sprouted a few more rooms, and a cocktail lounge, and became one of South Jersey’s favorite family dining destinations. From business breakfasts through ladies lunching, to family dinners and late night travelers---the traffic never stops. The waitresses know everyone, and bring big baskets of their assorted breads before you can ask. This down-home abundance is what many cross the river from Philly for---Italian specials, chicken croquettes, fried eggplant, and lots of fish dishes. No one leaves without taking home some of the fetchingly displayed cakes and cookies. |
