 Postino Restaurant Review: Housed in the former Arcadia post office, Postino has the chic but cozy good looks of a Crate & Barrel ad. This friendly wine bar (still outfitted with massive sliding doors from its postal incarnation) has everything going for it: a short but sophisticated wine list, wine-friendly snacks and the kind of comfortable atmosphere that encourages lingering over a heart-felt conversation and a bottle of something elegant. Only a few people drop by for sandwiches, soups and salads at lunch, but by 5 p.m., the place is filling up with an after-work crowd, there for wines-by-the-glass and a memorable selection of bruschetta (try the prosciutto with figs and mascarpone). Get there early and you can grab a velvet-upholstered couch or chair near the sliding doors, which are always up in good weather. Sheer heaven. |
